Deriving from the word “Relationship,” to “ship” is to create a fictional relationship. The idea of the relationship, either platonic or romantic, can be between fictional characters such as Katness Everdeen and Hermione Granger. Real people can also be “shipped.” An example would be between Taylor Swift and Amy Schumer or Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. “Shipping” is the act of wanting and creating a relationship. To “ship” is the placement of people together in a relationship.
